Job Description:
1. Develop next generation solutions work closely with engineering to bring robust, scalable, stable applications to market

2. Help define requirements for monitoring, packaging of deliverables, installation methods, and all other needs to ensure applications move to production efficiently and with stability.

3. Provide intermediate/advanced level support and troubleshooting Linux systems

4. Develop and improve tools for common tasks and processes

5. Analyze, execute, and streamline DevOps practices by incorporating DevOps best practices.

6. Work closely with engineering teams on production application deployments and defects

7. Create and document procedures for use within the operations team (Confluence and/or other wiki)

8. Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve after-hours problems

Candidate Profile:
Education:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university

Experience:
1. 2+ years industry experience overseeing a production environment 24x7.

2. 2+ years Linux server operating system experience (troubleshooting, installation)

Required Skills:
1. Cloud/Linux configuration management tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, and Chef preferred)

2. Scripting ability (one or more: Python, Bash, Ruby)

3. Experience with cloud Infrastructure (Amazon, RackSpace, OpenStack, etc) is a plus

4. Experience working with teams in an agile development environment

5. Experience with system and application performance measurement and troubleshooting

6. Familiarity with relational database technologies (Postgres preferred)

7. Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, Firewall, VPN)

8. Exposure to NOSQL Solutions (HBase preferred)
